BDC Has Double Bypass - Burger Not Surgery

Greetings from the frozen tundra of Kentucky! We are now in day six of one of the largest ice storms in the state's history. It is a winter wonderland of snow and ice outside, so Wife and Son of BDC have been stuck inside all week, while I slipped and slid into work.
The weather has been the big story of this week for us, but last week I had the opportunity to tackle one more of America's most famous burgers.
While on a business trip across several southern states last week, I found myself spending the night in Atlanta, Georgia. Having recently seen the Atlanta episode of the awesome "Man v. Food" show on the Travel Channel, I knew exactly where I needed to head for supper. With no hesitation whatsoever, I headed off to the Vortex Bar and Grill to stare down the Double Bypass Burger...

Your eyes are not deceiving you. That beautiful burger is loaded with awesomeness. From the bottom up, that is a grilled cheese sandwich base, a half-pound beef patty, two fried eggs, four slices of cheese, six strips of bacon, onions, and tomoatoes, all topped off with another grilled cheese sandwich.
To say this burger was delicious is under-stating it. It was like discovering a new burger frontier. Replacing the buns with grilled cheese sandwiches in on par with the invention of the internet.
The Vortex Bar and Grill is a cool environment to eat in, as well. You must be 18 or older to enter, due to the bar aspect of the establishment and their allowance of smoking. Sorry kids, but this is a grown-up burger that took me 28 years to prepare for, so wait your turn.
I can assure you this was not my last visit to The Vortex. My travelling mate (and new boss here in Kentucky) got a side order of fried plantains with his burger that tasted incredible. I will be pairing those tasty little buggers with the Elvis Burger on my next visit. The Elvis Burger is topped with peanut butter, fried bananas, and bacon. Yumm!!
